Grounded

So Nigel Barker is pretty much one of my major inspirations as a photographer and role model, and I recently joined his website entitled 'Beauty Equation'. When I found out there was an open forum where I could potentially get feedback from him personally, I jumped at it. Within a day - he has replied to my questions and ideas and gave me some interesting points to think about. Needless to say I'm star-struck and completely extatic, this made my day! Its awesome how he actually cares about his fans and followers, and I have more respect and love for him now than ever, not that I didn't before because c'mon, who wouldn't love that charming smile and british accent? Anyway, thank you to Nigel for helping me push forward with my idea for my first year final assignment, and thank you for boosting my confidence just a little more!!

Hot Child in the City.

No, that's not Lady Gaga, but it sure does look like an album cover doesn't it? It screams celebrity status and forces all the focus on her. This is Samantha Savoia; she's been in several photo shoots with my now and this is part of our most recent work together. Shes is extremely easy to photograph and our results are always pleasing! This shoot was for a school project of mine but this shot strayed away from the guidelines of the assignment, and I'm actually glad I did because it can now be used elsewhere! Thanks again Sam for always being an awesome model - I hope my teacher is as satisfied with the final photos as I am! (This picture makes me think of that song.)

Photo was taken at Yonge/Dundas Square in Toronto. Please visit Sam's YouTube page or facebook page for more info on her music:

Big Deal.

This year has been huge for me; starting university and moving out, but also with the progression of my photography business. In August, I shot my first wedding in London Ontario and I can tell you it was an amazing experience. It was the wedding of a beautiful childhood friend, to one of the nicest coolest guys I've ever met. This was a day of learning for me, but it was surprisingly laid back because of how close I am with the bride's family and friends. I have now done two weddings to date, and I cannot wait to do more! This genre of photography is so different from fashion and editorial shoots that I usually aim towards, but I still found ways to make the most typical pictures unique.

This is one of my favourite photos from the wedding party shoot after the ceremony.
